New fretboard confidence
I have been using Levi's practice routines for some time now. It has given me a new way to look at the fretboard, giving me more confidence when improvising.
Guided practice course
Learn the dark, moody scale behind Crazy Train and Sweet Dreams, then play it all over the neck in melodies and licks of your own.

Course progression
Learn the shapes, connect them across the neck, then turn them into licks.
Play the scale in all five shapes, up and down, in sequences and in thirds.
Slide between shapes across the whole neck, then switch keys every two bars.
Turn the scale into melodic rock licks with bends, slides and a fast closing run.
Includes interactive tab
Every routine comes with tab synced to the video. Set it up your way and practice until it feels easy.
Inside the course
Each lesson shows you the idea, then you play the routine along with Levi over a backing track.
1 lesson · Theory
Levi compares C major to C minor note by note, so you hear the three notes that change. You sing the scale before you play it.
Routines 1-3 · Main shapes
The three shapes most players use, all in A minor. Each routine runs the scale, two sequences and a pattern of thirds.
Routines 4-5 · Full neck
The last two shapes, so the scale covers the whole neck. Same four exercises, so all your focus goes to the fingering.
Routines 6-7 · Color
One melody built on the minor pentatonic plus two color notes. You play it in seven places on the neck, then again in a new key.
Routine 8 · Transitions
Five phrases that shift shapes as they run down the neck, ending with a Paul Gilbert style sequence on the top two strings.
Routine 9 · Licks
Four melodic rock licks over a slow C minor groove, with bends, slides and a flashy run inspired by Marty Friedman.
Routines 10-11 · 4 keys
A, C, E flat and F sharp minor, three frets apart. First you find each key in one spot, then you run lines that land on the next key.
Routine 12 · Improvisation
A one-take solo over a C minor progression, written out so you can play along and borrow the phrases you like.
