Course progression

From one string change to the whole neck

Build the motion, make it reliable on six strings, then play longer lines with it.

  1. 1Learn

Build the double-escape down-up motion on held triad shapes, while your fretting hand stays simple.

    Level 1 · G major routine

  2. 2Internalize

Run six-string arpeggios and sequences until the motion holds up on every string, not only the easy ones.

    Level 2 · G major routine

  3. 3Master

Connect positions and shift between shapes, so the technique turns into longer melodic lines across the neck.

    Level 3 · G major routine

Includes interactive tab

Tab that you control

Every routine comes with tab synced to the video. Set it up your way and practice until it feels easy.

  • Loop the bars you want to work on.
  • Slow it down until every note is clean.
  • Speed it up as it gets easy.
  • Follow the tab as it moves with Levi.

Inside the course

3 levels, 9 routines

Each level has a G, C and D major lesson, then play-along routines with Levi at 90, 110 and 130 bpm. Each level picks up where the last one stopped.

  1. 01

    Level 1 · G, C and D major

    Build the motion

You start with held triad shapes and simple one-note-per-string patterns. With the fretting hand kept easy, all your attention goes to relaxed, consistent double-escape picking.

  2. 02

    Level 2 · G, C and D major

    Define the notes

Next come six-string major triad arpeggios and sequencing patterns. They ask for cleaner articulation, so every note speaks even when the string changes on each one.

  3. 03

    Level 3 · G, C and D major

    Connect the fretboard

You combine arpeggio positions, shift between shapes and use triads as melodic ideas over a wider range of the neck.

Connecting theory to play

As a guitarist of over 30 years, I've always struggled to connect theory and technique. Since starting Levi's guided practice routines, I'm now making real progress translating my musical ideas to the fretboard.

Common questions

Before you start

Who is this course for?
Beginner and intermediate players who can alternate pick on one string but lose control once every note is on a new string. It's also for anyone who wants cleaner arpeggios and one-note-per-string lines.
Do I need to know triads first?
It helps a lot. The routines use major triad shapes as the main material, so if you already know them, all your attention can go to the picking hand.
Is cross picking the same as sweep picking?
No. Sweep picking drags the pick in one direction across the strings. Cross picking keeps a strict down-up alternate motion, even when every note is on a different string.
How is the course structured?
Three levels, each with a G, C and D major lesson and routine, for nine in total. Every routine comes at three tempos, 90, 110 and 130 bpm, so you can start slow and build up.
What are the access and refund terms?
Buy the course once and it's yours for life, with Guitar Pro and PDF tab and backing tracks to download. You're covered by a 14-day money-back guarantee: email us within 14 days and you get a full refund.
