New fretboard confidence
I have been using Levi's practice routines for some time now. It has given me a new way to look at the fretboard, giving me more confidence when improvising.
Guided practice course
This is the scale that makes a solo sound like jazz. Dark, a little mysterious and nothing like the box patterns everyone else plays.

Levi plays through the course, from the first shape to the final licks.
Course progression
Learn the shapes, connect them across the neck, then turn them into licks.
Play the scale in all five shapes over a moody minor groove, in eighth notes, triplets and 16ths.
Link the shapes in long runs across the neck, then move the scale through four keys.
Turn the scale into jazz and fusion lines with arpeggios, pentatonic runs and slides.
Includes interactive tab
Every routine comes with tab synced to the video. Set it up your way and practice until it feels easy.
Inside the course
Each lesson shows you the idea, then you play the routine along with Levi over a backing track.
3 lessons · Theory
Where the scale comes from and the chords it holds. Levi teaches it as Dorian with a raised 7th, so it builds on sounds you already know.
Routines 1-3 · Main shapes
The three shapes Levi plays from most, over a C minor groove. Each one in eighth notes, triplets and 16ths, shifting only when you have to.
Routines 4-5 · Full neck
The last two shapes, so the scale covers the whole neck and you can call up any shape in any key.
Routines 6-7 · Connecting
Long runs that climb through four shapes in one line, plus one big descent from the top of the neck.
Routine 8 · Visualization
Minor chords that move up in minor thirds. Each new key uses a different shape in the same area of the neck.
Routine 9 · Vocabulary
The sound only this scale has, launched from the minor pentatonic and used to slide along the neck.
Routine 10 · Vocabulary
The bebop motif Levi plays all the time (he traces it to Charlie Parker), played in five places on the neck.
Routines 11-13 · Licks
Real lines built from arpeggios, pentatonics and slides. Each lick comes with two endings, so you hear how to change it as you play.
